Hotel Commonwealth
THE PROPERTY
Hotel Commonwealth is a city hotel right off the Kenmore stop on the Green line train in Boston. If you're looking to visit the city, it’s in a great location right next to Fenway park. Because it's a city hotel, it doesn't have the same amount of amenities as a resort but arguably having the city right outside it's doors you will find all the “amenities” you need. The hotel is well designed and offers homage to Boston and the Red Sox throughout it's decor. As you walk around the hotel, you immediately notice the eclectic curated art selection displayed throughout the spaces really giving this hotel a worldly appeal. They even have an art gallery right on it's grounds. Hotel Commonwealth is connected to multiple restaurants you can access without leaving the hotel and they also offer complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge. If you are visiting the hotel for work, they offer many conference rooms and also have an event space. The rooftop patio has a nice view of Fenway Park

THE ROOM
Upon entering our room, we were greeted with a cute welcome package with nostalgic Boston snacks including Babe Ruths chocolate bars and Cracker Jacks which I had no idea you could still purchase! These treats are iconic to Boston and really brought my back to my childhood as girl growing up in the city. The rooms were a nice size, clean and well designed. They did a great job incorporating the art into the rooms as well. Whoever curated the art in this hotel did an amazing job. Our room had a nice view of Fenway park and it was cool to see it lit up at night. My sister stayed in an adjoining room and the girls loved bouncing back in forth from room to room. I love a clean, simple, cozy room with comfy beds and they definitely delivered.

FENWAY
So one of the coolest perks of staying at Hotel Commonwealth is that they offer the “Friends of Fenway” package. When you stay at the hotel they can coordinate access to the exclusive Aura lounge in Fenway where you can have lunch while watching the game, book special seats, post your name on the welcome board, and a visit from Waldo the mascot. Its truly a VIP experience. Honestly after having this experience, I feel like there is no other way to watch a Red Sox game with your family. Easy food access for the kids, your own concession area so no long lines, and clean bathrooms, we we’re winning all around. My oldest daughter was way more into baseball then I realized. It was her first game ever and she absolutely loved it and was trying her best to follow the game. I’m sure the free popcorn helped too. Being able to easily walk to Fenway from the hotel was amazing. I've been to games before but this was by far my best experience. If you come to Boston and plan on going to a game I would book this hotel for this perk alone. 10/10 recommend.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The hotel is located in the Fenway/Longwood area of Boston. I went to school in this area and it was crazy to see the new development and how much it has changed. It is very walkable neighborhood with a plethora of shops and restaurants at your fingertips. One cool spot is Time Out Market where you can grab all different types of foods under one roof and they even have live music on some nights. It serves as a nice outing for your visit. I also love the neighborhood because when there are not Red Sox games it's a bit less touristy so you can really stroll and enjoy the area while also being a quick train ride away to the heart of the city or a scenic walk if you got time to spare! So you really get the best of both worlds.

Being a Boston native, it was really fun to pretend to be a tourist for a day and enjoy the amenities of the hotel while also experiences my girl's first Red Sox game with them. Boston really is a beautiful city with so much to offer and I love seeing it grow and develop into a better version of itself. It will always be home to my and one of my favorite cities.
