How To Travel With A Private Driver
It’s no secret that getting around a new city or country can be a bit daunting let alone if you add kids to the picture. Many of the ride share companies do not provide car seats and who knows who you’re going to get to drive you and your kids around a foreign location. They can also be unpredictable at times. Renting a car is a whole other animal. Sometimes all you need to do is get to and from a place, so renting a whole car with the surcharges for gas and car seats isn’t often worth it. (Not to mention you are now responsible for returning it and still needing a ride once you do.) When I discovered Blacklane and used them for the first time, I never looked back. Blacklane is a private chauffeur service that you can schedule ahead of time right on your phone.
Every time we need to go to the airport or land in a new country and need a lift to our hotel, we use Blacklane. The drivers meet you at baggage claim with a sign, carry your bags, and load the car for you. They can even bring booster seats or car seats upon request. They also are always stocked with waters and charging cables. Some even have snacks or candy. The best part though is that you can book it right on their app just like any other ride share except it’s super professional and you feel 100% safe.
It’s our go to anytime we travel and it has never disappointed. They always come on time and we get to travel stress free with the girls. The prices are a bit higher than a ride share but for me it’s worth the piece of mind and professionalism especially when traveling with small children. They also have really large SUVs if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage. We traveled with 4 people, 4 suitcases, 1 stroller, and 2 large backpacks and had no issues with everything fitting. You can also hire drivers for the day so if you wanted to explore a city for the day they can drop you off and pick you up wherever you venture. Blacklane is available in so many countries and cities, we have yet to travel to a place where their services were not available. 10/10 recommend.
